Then there are also the automated logistic systems – where the garments hover above our heads – allowing complete garment tracking. \"\"An organisation tailored after the image of its founder and manager, Gerardo Delli Bovi, that we meet inside his mega-laundry in Sedriano. When talking to Gerardo Delli Bovi – the creator, the coordinator of the entire team, together with his brother Sabatino, that are making the organisational machine of DBG service \u201crun\u201d – you understand that you are dealing with a person that has acquired great skills and a lot of experience in the field. Twenty years under the motto \u201cthere’s nothing that can’t be cleaned\u201d: clothing, leather garments and accessories, linen (even the most delicate), workwear, puppets, carpets, sofas, mattresses and shoes. Thanks to specially designed machines prototypes, we are able to wash them using ozone to ensure effective sanitisation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>At the beginning of my adventure in this sector, I have immediately realised that there was something wrong: the laundries were in sort of a race to lower their prices in order to attract customers, that were choosing the laundry shop that was offering them the lowest price without even thinking about the treatment quality of their garments, and the blame for this, however, belonged and it still belongs to the “small business men” working in this sector. But what is a “small business man”? Is a carrier pretending to be a laundry laboratory and offering its cleaning services, that in reality, it is just a transporter managing pick-ups and deliveries from a certain package of customers (dry-cleaners, laundries), but entrusting this service to a real laundry laboratory for a really low price, without even thinking to the quality of work.<\/p>\n

These people are creating significant damage to the sector and the market, as they are taking advantage of their large volumes of work by keeping laboratories under pressure, which frequently will cave in and concede low prices just for catching some work. But the most irritating thing they do, is pretending to be a laundry laboratory, without having any clue about the things behind running and managing such an activity. We have chosen to make it differently, always choosing quality and innovation and testing new washing and ironing techniques, but also adopting an eco- sustainable approach for managing the business, for instance by installing a waste water purification plant. Our laboratory has always relied on its employees for the daily workflow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I have decided, for example, to purchase multi-solvent dry-cleaning machines, that are functioning with alternative solvents, such as SenseneTM, Sepisol, to produce ozonated water, as well as cool water recycling systems and different models of ironing machines. All of this was possible with the support of the companies that are producing this kind of machinery, which were always willing to comply with any of my requests, always adapting their machines to my requirements. I must especially thank to Davide and Andrea Rotondi, but also to Maurizio Beghetto and Fulvio Balbi, who were always prompt and available. And finally, i am owing my sincere gratitude to Luigi Sgarra, an expert in chemistry and detergency, thanks to whom we always find the most appropriate formulations to ensure a professional wash.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>How was it possible to become successful?<\/strong>
\n“First of all, you have to be passionate. And then you must to set a method as each treatment has its own specific nature and it requires a particular professionalism. We have a different philosophy, and another enterprising spirit. We don\u2019t practice low-cost competition. This kind of approach means choosing a detergent of lower quality, reducing the sequence of baths, for summarizing, means treating everything to the detriment of quality. On the contrary, our philosophy is to always improve the quality of our work by guaranteeing a better service to the customer by providing our full support. An answer for every problem. Today, with this method we supply our services to more than 50% of the dry-cleaning shops in the city of Milan, showing us their daily satisfaction. We guarantee efficient cleaning services for many fashion houses of the Milanese brands, as well”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Gerardo Delli Bovi is a curious person, and this gives him a certain dose of dynamism when it comes to experience new things. “I have been thinking for years of how to improve the laundry service,” says Delli Bovi, ” about how it could become more innovative, more accessible to everyone, without being obliged to pass by the dry-cleaning shop at certain hours, because very often they don’t match with the people’s work schedules and some other commitments they might have. That’s how I came up with the idea of providing this service to people by using the lockers, so I started looking for partners that could have helped me with this project.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>So, after a lot of research, I met Flavio Amaglio, the owner of Dreama, an innovative startup company in the field of grocery delivery lockers, and this was the beginning of Mister Tintoria, a joint venture with ambitious goals for innovating the laundry market. The project is highly innovative but also extremely simple, at the same time. This project consists in the installation of specially designed lockers for offering a service of clothing delivery and collection.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>With this service, Mister Tintoria is striving to become a point of reference for all dry-cleanings, who will be able to:
\n– install lockers at their locations without any capital investment:<\/strong> the locker and software are provided by Mister Tintoria for a monthly fee;
\n– increase the number of customers:<\/strong> the installation of lockers outside the premises will allow customers to deposit\/pick up their garments 24 hours a day, even during the closing hours;
\n– approaching \u201cunreachable\u201d customers:<\/strong> offering the service to important companies or apartment buildings in your area, which would be difficult to reach without the locker service;
\n– optimising the management of existing customers:<\/strong> installing lockers at your customers’ facilities (of a certain size) will enable you to serve them better and optimise time, costs and logistics operations.
\n“We are facing a real species evolution also regarding the laundry service,” concludes Delli Bovi ironically. \u2022<\/p>\n
