The chemistry is one of the main aspects on which the laundry service bases its quality on, for maintaining the fabrics in a proper condition, and for achieving the so much needed hygiene guarantee (not only in a pandemic period like the one that we have been going through for the last two years). The market perspectives for the laundry chemicals, are focused on the implementation of increasingly greener compounds, designed for a better integration in a circular economy logic, without compromising the expected quality.

There are many solutions with less environmental impact, that are giving an added value to the useful life of the product, and they interpenetrate in different fields of application:
• Ecolabel and/or similar ISO 14024 certifications;
• Packaging reduction.

Regarding the development of the chemical products, the core of the provided service, with less impact on the global disposal system, we cannot miss to mention all the possibilities offered by the lists of components banned by the various ISO 14024 labels. Almost all of these labels include important raw material limitations, for example as specified in the Nordic Swan product requirements:

Raw materials that played a major role in the water pollution (whether groundwater, surface or marine). Christeyns has been offering a wide range of Nordic Swan certified products and systems for at least ten years, placing itself at the forefront in this context. These products have been developed, tested and validated for a wide range of applications, including workwear and PPE, and they fully comply with the requirements of MEC (minimum environmental criteria).

more concentrated
formulas and less
packaging”

Such items meet all the requirements of the laundry textile treatment and they can be applied in synergy with the ozone system. On the logistics front, the packaging reduction is achieved through:
• the possibility of delivery in tanks, that reduce the amount of packaging to be disposed;
• the possibility of reusing the empty packaging.

Moreover, the Nordic Swan specifications require that the containers used shouldn’t contain pollutants: Are products conceived with more concentrated formulas, reducing the delivery loads, as the washing requires lower dosages; while being more eco-sustainable, and using less water in the washing process (more rinseable and mixable) being more efficient and reducing like this the steps of the traditional processes. •
