Among the many success stories that have marked up the history of our company, we cannot forget to mention the supply of the PowerTrans VARIO 22-60 continuous batch washer, combined together with the high-extraction capacity press model PowerPress PP 10-60-40 TURBO, to our customer “Lavanderia Donati” located in Bagni di Lucca city. This is actually the static bath machine equipped with the biggest number of compartments that we can find on the Italian market.
“Lavanderia Donati S.r.l.”, an industrial laundry founded in 1977 in Bagni di Lucca, province of Lucca, started immediately to get specialized in the sector of linen rental and laundry services dedicated to hotels, restaurants, accommodation facilities, hospitals and nursing homes, providing to its customers a fast and efficient after sales service. The owners Maria Teresa Giannasi and Moreno Donati together with the new generation Beatrice, Damiano and Manuel Donati, represent the perfect combination of a family-run business, oriented towards change and development of new technologies, ready to face the challenges of an increasingly selective and demanding market.
The VARIO technology (static bath in all washing phases) arise immediately the interest of Moreno Donati, even though until now he only had counterflow machines in his laundry (two continuous batch washers with 13 and 16 compartments, respectively). In fact, the company management understood the need of flexibility. This implies the ability to control all the washing phases as the batches vary in weight and type of article, to guarantee superior wash quality combined with a significant reduction in consumption and to lower the and to lower the “Delta” of electrical conductivity (the only indicator for measuring rinsing quality).
In addition, the customer, through a detailed analysis of the annual workflows, developed the idea of being able to work only with one washing system during certain periods of the year, thus generating value for the company by reducing the consumption. This is why the initial project of a continuous batch washer with 16 compartments was quickly shelved and the goal became to think about a machine capable of occupying the available linear space by combining the concept of productivity per meter.
The PowerTrans VARIO of 60 kg capacity and equipped with 22 compartments, combined with the PowerPress PP 10-60-40, has been successfully installed and tested. The system is capable of processing 40 discharges of 60 kg batches/hour, with an average water consumption of 5.5 litres/kg. Whether we are talking about hospitality facilities or restaurants, the common denominator is the best washing quality result with the lowest process cost, with corresponding positive effects on the flat linen finishing areas and the life cycle of the textiles.
